Run Free - The True Story of Caballo Blanco
October 18th 6:30pm
Presented by Tacoma Runners - One Screening Only
Run Free is a movie about Micah True (Caballo Blanco, or the White Horse), an American ultra runner who helped the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico preserve their traditional running culture by creating a 50-mile ultra marathon which combines aspects of traditional Tarahumara running with the ideology of modern ultra running. Micah True and the Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon were subjects in the best-selling book 'Born to Run - A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes & the greatest Race the World has Never Seen' by Christopher McDougall.
Tickets are $12 in advance at www.imathlete.com/events/runfree or $15 at the door the night of the show. Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1660936144124975/
The Tacoma Runners is a social running club in Tacoma. The club began in January 2010 when seven runners went out for an easy run. Twelve showed up the next week. The club has had several thousand runners join in for events since then. Once, the Tacoma Runners hosted a speaking engagement from Micah True, and Caballo Blanco went on a group run with them.
