Reflections
LET'S PROGRAM THE GRAND WITH FILMS THAT REPRESENT YOU AND YOUR COMMUNITY!

This new series encourages Tacoma to participate in programming by sharing films that inspire them, reflect their experiences on screen, and amplify aspects of our diverse community.
The goal of "Reflections" is to provide community access to our screens on weekends, up to twice a month (depending on incoming requests) with screenings taking place on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Our newly remodeled Grand Lounge will be available for pre-film social hours and post-film discussions. Non-profit groups, arts organizations, filmmaker groups, educators and student clubs are encouraged to apply. We are reserving the first seven screenings for groups and organizations to get started.
To get started, participants need only fill out this online form, briefly describing how the films they are requesting fit the series concept. Anyone who would like to present the film as a speaker, bring a speaker, or arrange a social event (all optional) can let us know about it on the form.
Scope of submissions:
Scope of submissions:
- Films should be already in release, and programming (film only) should be at least 70 minutes.
- Filmmakers wanting to show their own works are encouraged to enquire about rentals or to submit to the Tacoma Film Festival (free for Tacoma residents).
- There may be some variability depending on the program request, depending on the circumstances
Sometimes films are not available for us to license to play theatrically for various reasons. So, The Grand can't guarantee a screening. In order to keep the resource open to maximum community access, participants are encouraged to submit no more than once a year or so. Selected dates may be subject to change.
