About The 253 Short Film Party


2017 Short Film Party Recap

31 Teams of local filmmakers were given 72 hours to create an original short film lasting no more than 253 seconds in length. Films from 2017 also incorporated use of the following four elements: public art, a discarded item, a flashback, and the line of dialogue, "A lot of people have it worse."

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE PARTY: 

  • Audience Choice Voting: vote for the film you think is most deserving of the Audience Choice Award and cash prize  
  • Door Prizes: enter to win one of several giveaways simply by being at the event
  • Local Eats: enjoy locally made pizza, salads, desserts and snacks for purchase
  • Local Drinks: snag a glass of beer or wine to wash down dinner 
  • Photo Booth: capture memories in an interactive photo booth with friends and filmmakers

TICKETS & ADMISSION

Event tickets will be available in advance at The Grand Cinema's box office and online with discounts for members of The Grand. Watch for tickets to become available in April 2018. 
 
WILL CALL
Tickets purchased in advance will be available for pick up at Will Call in The Grand Cinema's box office until the afternoon of the event. Will Call will re-open at the venue when the doors open to the public.
