Again Again
<div>The time loop narrative is having a resurgence, but none of the modern spins are stronger or more personable than<i> Again Again</i>, starring, written by, and co-directed by Washington-raised Mia Moore. This one starts near the end: Agatha (or Aggie) is a trans woman who’s spent ten years in an RV just outside of town reliving the same day over and over again. At least she’s spent this time with her childhood best friend and love of her life, Tess (Aria Taylor), but their shared history is… complicated.</div><div> </div><div>One day, the cycle breaks. Aggie is free. Ostensibly. Now, she must face a world she never anticipated seeing again, nor one she was prepared for. Heading back into the streets of Aberdeen—a rusted but spirited factory town of ice cream shops, record stores, and demolition derbies—she must come to terms with her own messy, self-destructive identity, what that means to who she most cherishes, and her desire to be seen.</div><div> </div><div>Mixing earthy science-fiction with a tactile realism straight out of the ’90s arthouse boom, <i>Again Again</i> is playful, crushing, and swooning in equal measure.
