Dear Grand Supporter:

Since the beginning of the global coronavirus pandemic, we at The Grand Cinema have made your safety our number one priority with extra cleaning, social distancing, new ultraviolet HVAC equipment, and on-site masking. We are also proud that 100 percent of our staff and volunteers are vaccinated for your safety.

After careful consideration, because of the rise of the Delta variant and the increasing number of virus cases in our community despite relatively high vaccination rates, we are requiring proof of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus as of Friday, Sept. 3. Masks will also continue to be required (except when eating at your seat) as an additional safety measure.

Acceptable forms of proof:
  • Your CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. Originals, copies, or photographs on a mobile device are acceptable.
  • WA State Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination. A convenient mobile copy of this is available at MyIRmobile.com.
  • Certificate of COVID-19 vaccination or Washington State Immunization Information System printout. (We only need COVID-19 vaccination information.)
  • You may be asked for photo ID.
See the Visual Guide to Official Washington State Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination for more information and images of each type of proof. All forms of proof should show that you have received the full course of the vaccine at least two weeks prior to your visit to The Grand.

We are not accepting negative tests for entry at this time.

Children under 12 may attend the cinema accompanied by an adult, but they must wear a mask on the premises at all times other than when eating snacks while seated.

If you have purchased a ticket and cannot provide proof of vaccination by Sept. 3 or later, please contact us at info@grandcinema.com, and we will issue a full refund.

We are thankful that our movie-loving community has been so supportive of the measures we have taken to promote safety. Thanks, in advance, for working with us to defeat this virus once and for all.

Please be understanding with our staff and volunteers as we try to navigate this complex, dynamic and dangerous pandemic.

Stay healthy and safe,

The Grand Cinema and Tacoma Film Festival Staff
