THE KICK OFF AND THE CLOSE OUT
Perhaps unsurprisingly, our Opening and Closing Night partners are getting popular:

Come experience this breakout feature from first time director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and meet star Scott Cohen and producers Sean Patrick Burke, Brent Stiefel, and Shea Chapple. After the film, we’ll enjoy a Q&A with the filmmakers followed by a party!

CLOSING NIGHT: Celebrating the end of TFF, we close with the delightful, emotional documentary SCORE: A FILM MUSIC DOCUMENTARY. Enjoy this insightful, beautiful doc, meet writer and director Matt Schrader and producer Kenny Holmes, and enjoy our final 2016 TFF party after the film.

THE NEW NEW
Explaining virtual reality is difficult but Rosemary Ponnekanti at The News Tribune did an incredible job summing up what you have to look forward to at THE VELDT, the film festival’s first ever foray into the world of virtual reality and 360 film. Read her great article, then mark your calendar: we kick off The Veldt with a preview party October 7 at 9 pm featuring interactive art performances, food and a local DJ. Then you can come explore the VR/360 films at your leisure from 12-8 pm Oct 8 and 9.
Want to hear what’s next for VR in the Northwest? Come to the VR Happy Hour Salon, October 9 at 4:00 pm. Meet The Veldt curators Kim Voynar and Nathaniel Luck Pinzon, and pick the brains of Trond Nilsen of Virtual World Society, writer Ryan Boudinot, and filmmakers Evie Powell and Michaella Vu.
Festival goers know that one of the best part of TFF are our thoughtfully curated shorts programs. All the options are incredible, but get your tickets now if you want to make sure that you don’t miss these three packages:
New York International Children’s Festival: Best of the Fest - this family-friendly shorts program will kick off your weekend with a smile on your face and a free doughnut in your stomach. Saturday, October 8, 10:00 am
