Some of our Tacoma Film Festival films and events are definitely getting some attention - here’s what you should grab tickets for sooner than later:

THE KICK OFF AND THE CLOSE OUT

Perhaps unsurprisingly, our Opening and Closing Night partners are getting popular:

OPENING NIGHTAS YOU ARE, the grunge-era set tragic thriller exploring love, family, and identity, opens the Tacoma Film Festival. Come experience this breakout feature from first time director Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and meet star Scott Cohen and producers Sean Patrick Burke, Brent Stiefel, and Shea Chapple. After the film, we’ll enjoy a Q&A with the filmmakers followed by a party!

Thursday, October 6, 7:00 pm

CLOSING NIGHT: Celebrating the end of TFF, we close with the delightful, emotional documentary SCORE: A FILM MUSIC DOCUMENTARY. Enjoy this insightful, beautiful doc, meet writer and director Matt Schrader and producer Kenny Holmes, and enjoy our final 2016 TFF party after the film.

THE NEW NEW

Explaining virtual reality is difficult but Rosemary Ponnekanti at The News Tribune did an incredible job summing up what you have to look forward to at THE VELDT, the film festival’s first ever foray into the world of virtual reality and 360 film. Then you can come explore the VR/360 films at your leisure from 12-8 pm Oct 8 and 9.
