CAST: Barbara Loden, Michael Higgins, Jerome Thier DIRECTOR: Barbara Loden 2018 Tacoma Film Festival Official Selection

With her first and only feature film, Barbara Loden turned in a groundbreaking work of American
independent cinema. Set amid a soot-choked Pennsylvania landscape, the film follows Wanda (Loden), who has left her husband, lost custody of her children, and now finds herself alone. Wanda is a compassionate and wrenching portrait of a woman stranded on society’s margins.

Screenings will be held at The Grand Cinema.

"Realism" doesn't entirely do justice to the world Wanda inhabits, which, for all the grit and grunge of its bars and diners and factory floors, is also a world of startling everyday beauty.
Justin Chang, Los Angeles Times
A brilliantly atmospheric film with a superb performance by Loden.
