Filmmaker Q&A | #StopErasingBlackPeople with Horror Noire
February 13th 6:45pm
Weird Elephant presents a special mid-week, non-late night documentary for Black History Month: Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror. Preceding this feature-length documentary is short film #StopErasingBlackPeople, directed by Christopher Paul Jordan, Cana Marie, Jamika Scott, Jaleesa Trapp of the Tacoma Action Collective. The film won Best Pierce County Short or Feature Film at the 2019 Tacoma Film Festival!
This documentary responds to interconnected structural violences with the demand #StopErasingBlackPeople: chronicling how the Tacoma Action Collective organized to address the whitewashing of the "Art, AIDS, America" exhibition, and their work at the International AIDS Conference in South Africa.
Filmmakers Jamika Scott and Cana Marie will be in attendance.
