Agave: The Spirit of a Nation with Mezcal & Tequila Tasting
August 7th 6:45pm
This expressive documentary explores the phenomenon of the fastest trending alcohol spirits in the world, Tequila and Mezcal. This journey takes us to the world’s most bio-diverse landscape of the agave plant, Mexico; here families have been passing down the tradition of distilling agave for generations, even at times clandestinely. From the alluring red highlands of Jalisco to the rugged mountains of Oaxaca the film follows three producers - Carlos, Graciela, and Aquilino in this burgeoning renaissance. Discover how one delicate plant can carry the weight of a nation and the people trying to protect it for the future.
This screening includes a Skype Q&A with the directors followed by a mezcal and tequila tasting - featuring Tequila Fortaleza and Mezcal Vago - hosted by Corina Bakery, located next door to The Grand Cinema. Ticket price includes tasting event.
This event is 21+ only.
