Volunteer at The Grand!

The Grand counts on the donated time of hundreds of volunteers to bring independent, documentary, and foreign films to Tacoma. Check out our volunteer opportunities below.

Volunteer at the Theater

We rely on volunteers to make the theater run 365 days a year. Volunteers work shifts ranging from 2 to 4 hours, taking tickets, making popcorn, and spending time with fun and interesting people of all ages. Volunteers receive one courtesy pass per shift worked. Unfortunately we are not accepting new volunteer applications at this time, please check back.

Volunteer on the Board of Directors

The Board meets monthly, usually the third Monday of the month, and is responsible for oversight of the cinema.

Nominations for the Board of Directors occurs are usually reviewed in January and February. Nominations are approved and mailed to Grand Cinema members in preparation for the Annual Meeting, usually in March. New Board Members are announced at the Annual Meeting.

Volunteer on a Committee

If you are interested in supporting the cinema on a committee, positions may be available.

The Board's standing committees include Finance, Fund Development, Board Development, and Planning; all may have positions open to interested and qualified individuals. Positions may also be available on ad-hoc committees or event planning committees organized from time to time.
