Meet The Filmmakers
Lead actor Nick Thune, producer John Charles Meyer and writer Steve Sears will introduce Dave Made a Maze and stay for a post-film Q&A.
Nick Thune most recently starred in DAVE MADE A MAZE, which won the Audience Award for Narrative Features at SlamDance this past year and can next be seen in Noel Wells’ MR. ROOSEVELT, which premiered at SXSW. In the past year Nick wrapped the thriller CADAVER for Screen Gems, set for a wide release in August, as well as the lead role in Sherwin Shilati’s feature PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW, opposite Halston Sage. He is also developing the TV show, HOLY SH*T, for HULU with Mila Kunis and can currently be seen as the spokesperson for Dell Computers.
Nick’s latest one-hour special, NICK THUNE GOOD GUY, is currently streaming on Seeso, while his previous special, NICK THUNE: FOLK HERO, is currently streaming on Netflix. John Charles Meyer spent his twenties at a DC political media firm while touring the US with a rock band. Since then, he has acted in more than a dozen TV shows (NCIS, Vampire Diaries, Mom, Hawaii Five-0, Mike & Molly, etc) and countless film/stage projects. Producing work includes a Nickelodeon pilot and the forthcoming feature Granite Rapids Moon, filmed in the Grand Canyon.
Steve Sears was born in Oakland, California and dropped out of college to move to Los Angeles. It has taken him five years of drudgery to find the gem that is Dave Made a Maze, and he wrote it down so he wouldn’t build one. He performs in Bro Squad, one of the longest-running continuous weekly improv shows at Second City Los Angeles. He is currently shooting a lead role in the horror feature Pine Springs, and has unforgettable stories from working on Human Centipede 3. He is also a contributing writer and host on the Curtain Jerks comedy wrestling podcast.
Steve Sears has written multiple screenplays and produced two short films. Dave Made a Maze is his first feature.
