Film in Tacoma meetup with Uncode's Myisa Plancq-Graham

October 7th 2:00pm - 4:30pm

Myisa Plancq-Graham

TFF Seminar & Special Screening

Grand Cinema, Filmmaker Lounge
Join the local filmmakers of Film in Tacoma for our special 2017 TFF meet-up: we'll take over the VIP Filmmaker Lounge at The Grand Cinema and meet Myisa Plancq-Graham, a TFF juror and co-founder of UNCODE

Myisa will share why she and Ali Graham created this innovative platform for featuring "short, documentary-style films featuring lifestyle topics as seen through the distinctive lens of Black storytellers," where the project is headed, and share some recent UNCODE films: FLATLAND and GREAT SMOKE.

“Flatland”, follows Ray Williams on the road to manufacturing self-sufficient food growing containers for underserved communities.

“Great Smoke” - In 2015, Jesce Horton co-founded the Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA), the first non-profit organization to serve the specific needs of minority cannabis entrepreneurs. With the help of Portland-based physician and cannabis specialist, Dr. Rachel Knox, GRAMMY award winning musician Killer Mike, and cannabis activist Nikki Coleman we learn what it takes to cultivate, benefit from, and profit from “Great Smoke.”

FILM IN TACOMA is a networking and learning series made especially for our Tacoma and Northwest creators, launched by The Grand Cinema in 2017. We welcome all filmmakers with all levels of experience to join us.

Space is limited for this meet-up, please make sure you RSVP here.
