She has been a panelist and speaker at the inaugural Vida Vegan Con Blogging Conference in Portland, OR and Food Camp(253) in Tacoma on the topics of vegan food, lifestyle and blogging. Join us in the lower lobby of the Grand on Tuesday, March 13 from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. for our Annual Meeting.
Members will enjoy the famous Grand hospitality and have a chance to meet and mingle with our current and newly-elected Board members. Enjoy refreshments and learn about how the Grand has been doing along with what is on our horizon.
This year, to celebrate another banner year at the Grand, there will be a limited number of free tickets FOR MEMBERS to see Le Havre at 6:45 p.m., that week's special Tuesday film of the week. These tickets will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis! Le Havre has a 98% positive rating by the critics and was brought in especially for the date of our annual meeting.

Donald Byrd, a world-renowned choreographer (and Tony Award nominee for his work on the stage production of "The Color Purple"), and the Artistic Director for the non-profit Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle will be facilitating the discussion. Donald brings an invaluable level of expertise and familiarity with the themes covered in PINA. Don't miss out on this very special discussion!

Donald moderated the discussion for PINA in Seattle last month with the film's director, Wim Wenders in attendance! Check out the interview here (broken into 4 parts). Donald will be speaking next month in Tacoma for a TEDx event at the Museum of Glass. With his extensive artistic career (has worked on over 80 full-length dance pieces), and his dedication to community involvement, as well as social and political awareness, Donald's appearance at the Grand Cinema will be an extremely insightful, unforgettable, and quite special event. Donald Byrd's choreography work was most recently seen in Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre's presentations of OKLAHOMA!
