72-Hour Film Festival Approaches!
|
May 9, 2008, 7:00 PM Back in 2005 The Grand began a competition with a simple idea: let's see what kind of 5-minute movie filmmakers can make if given only 72 hours to script, shoot and edit it. The results have often been entertaining, funny and inspiring. Here is how it works: registered filmmakers gathered at the Grand at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1. They were given a set of criteria that must be included in the film. This year's criteria to be included in the movie are a fortune cookie, a museum, the action of blowing bubbles and the phrase "I think I've been here before". The filmmakers have until Sunday, May 4 at 8:00 p.m. to return their finished 5-minute films to the Grand. Then on Friday, May 9 all of the films will be shown at the Rialto Theater beginning at 7:00 p.m. Many of the films turn out simply amazing (though yes, a few will probably be duds) so please mark your calendar and plan to attend! Filmmakers: to participate, the entry cost is $50. Included for that $50 will be four tickets for admission to the final event at the Rialto on the 9th. To sign up, you must register and pay in person at the Grand. The event is limited to 30 individuals/teams so once we reach 30, we will be unable to accept additional filmmakers. Tickets for this event are available NOW at the Grand Cinema. Tickets are $9 for members of the Grand and $11 for non-members. Support local filmmakers and support the Grand! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
